MIBR live to fight another day at ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2018 after defeating Cloud9 on 2-0 in Group A's elimination match (16-5 on Inferno and 19-17 on Cache).
The series kicked off on Inferno, Cloud9's map pick, with Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo finding three opponents to help his team to win their CT pistol. After following that up with the anti-ecos, MIBR nearly won the first gun round as Jake "Stewie2K" Yip found two entry kills, but Timothy "autimatic" Ta came out on top in a 1v2 situation.
However, FalleN's men remained in charge of the game, first with a trio of rounds, and then by resetting Cloud9's economy after the North Americans had won their second round.
Down 2-9, Cloud9 still strung two rounds together - the second thanks to a triple-kill from Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham in a 2v3 situation - but a great Deagle triple-kill from Tarik "tarik" Celik in the next round inspired MIBR to go up 11-4 by half-time.
Martin "STYKO" Styk opened up the second half with a clean triple kill, but that was not enough to stop MIBR, who saw Stewie2K add a quad kill to his name. From that moment, the Brazilians lost a single round before closing out the map at 16-5.
Next up was Cache, MIBR's map pick, where Fernando "fer" Alvarenga and his teammates bagged the pistol and the subsequent anti-ecos to take control of proceedings on the T side. Just like on Inferno, Cloud9 won the first gun round but could not capitalize on that, with MIBR rallying to a 7-1 lead.
Surprisingly enough, Cloud9 got their second round on the board with nothing but pistols. That sparked the start of a three-round streak from the North Americans, reducing the deficit to 4-7, but MIBR regained control of proceedings and went into the break up by five rounds.
In the second half, MIBR won their fourth pistol of the series, which they followed up with an anti-eco to make it 12-5. Cloud9 did not back down and won three rounds in a row, but then MIBR won three of their own to hit match-point. Still, Maikil "Golden" Selim and co. went on a massive seven-round winning streak to take the map to overtime.
Cloud9 started things off on the right foot, securing the first two rounds without much effort to go up 17-15. Nevertheless, MIBR then came back to life, winning the remaining overtime rounds to put the match to bed and eliminate Cloud9 from the competition.
