Cloud9 are the first finalists of Northern Arena following a 2-1 series versus Heroic (Overpass 11-16, Train 16-3, Mirage 16-9). In the meantime, Echo Fox survived an overtime battle on the last map against compLexity to reach semi-finals.
Cloud9 hadn't lost a map yet at Northern Arena, but one failure was in the works on Overpass, where HEROIC got off to a flying start as Terrorists, only losing two 1v2 clutches in the first 10 rounds, one from Mike "shroud" Grzesiek and the other from Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert.
Winning all the following clutch rounds, including two more 1v2 attempts by n0thing and another 1v1 situation, HEROIC extended their already immense lead to 13-2.
The first two rounds of the second half were traded due to Cloud9 winning the forcebuy on the B bombsite, resulting in several more rounds going in their favor. They ended up losing a round as Timothy "autimatic" Ta couldn't complete a triple in a 2v3 and were up against match point at 15-8.
Cloud9 humbled Heroic on Train and Mirage to reach the final
Cloud9 winning the following round forced the Danes on a double eco however, closing the gap further to 11-15, but the next round was their downfall as they got picked apart one by one.
Train was a completely opposite story. The first half was barely contested by HEROIC, who were on the favoured CT side but couldn't put up more than two rounds on the defence. Cloud9 pushed the series to a decider only needing three rounds on their CT side, winning Train at 16-2.
Mirage was a similarly one-sided affair. From the second round onwards, Cloud9 fended off most attacks with Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham stepping into the spotlight, securing a 12-3 half. Winning the pistol round, the Americans were in the driving seat to win the map as they reached match point at 15-3, but it took them seven more rounds to finish it off.

In the meantime, the last quarter-final took place between Echo Fox and Complexity, who previously eliminated Rogue in their group's decider, all with Cory "APE" Bate standing in for Shawn "witmer" Taylor.
The Canadian-British roster continued to surprise, taking the Sean "seang@res" Gares-led squad by storm on the Terrorist side of Cache with 13 rounds as everyone pulled their own weight.
Echo Fox attemped to come back, but the deficit was too big as they strung together five rounds but conceded the last three to lose the map 7-16.
Echo Fox survived a nail-biting finish to their compLexity series
The tides turned on Dust2, where it was Echo Fox who picked up a convincing 12 rounds as CT. The first four rounds went their opponents' way, but the map was over after the Americans put their foot down and finished the map off at 16-7 with two 1v1 clutches in a row.
Echo Fox repeated a similar feat on Mirage, where they took 11 rounds to their name as CT and topped it off with a pistol round victory. Complexity won the following forcebuy as well as several more gunrounds, making it 13-10. A forcebuy triumph from Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir's side pushed them one step closer to the semi-finals, but they had to work for it in overtime, as Complexity pushed back late into the map. The overtime itself was quite straight-forward, as Echo Fox made it to the Immortals semis at 19-16.
